Finley's Fresh Produce

Finley’s Fresh Produce is owned and operated by John and Chris Finley in Hermiston Oregon.  After a few years of growing produce on a limited basis and selling at farmers markets in the area as a sideline to their normal jobs, they formed their company in 2008.  While Chris continued to work her job and help with the markets, John began full-time growing and direct marketing fresh produce.   In May of 2009, Chris joined John full-time in the business.  John has spent nearly his whole life in some aspect of agriculture.  From the time he was a young boy working on a small acreage with his parents growing large gardens to being the operations manager for a large irrigated poplar tree farm of several thousand acres, John has been growing plants of one kind or another most of his life.

Having been involved for many years in large “conventional” farming operations, John’s interest in growing plants naturally was kindled even while working for a large farming operation.  Seeing an ever-growing dependence on pesticide use to grow the crops, the feeling that there was a better way began to take shape and so began the journey to raising and direct marketing naturally grown produce without the use of any kind of pesticides and emphasizing plant nutrition to grow nutritionally rich and safe food.  Today John and Chris operate Finley’s Fresh Produce providing fresh, in season weekly vegetables in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program as well as continuing to participate in the Hermiston Farmers Market, Pendleton Farmers Market and the Walla Walla Valley Farmers Market.
